To Masjid 2....

Alhamdulillah last nite we managed to go to Masjid Tabung Haji Kelana Jaya. This is a familiar masjid to me since I used to stay in Kelana Jaya before. We reached there around 8pm and there was a kuliyyah Maghrib. The speaker is a well known religous figure Ustaz Zawawi.

Points to note :

1) Make habit to help people regardless of religion.

Uztaz narated a few hadiths which narates about Khalifahs who like to help his people. One of them is Khalifah Umar Al Khatab who use to help a blind old women by sending food, drinks and medicine to her house every night. If the Khalifah can do such things to help others, who are we not to help our fellow muslims or others who needs help.

Helping people can soften our heart and abstain us from any calamity.

2) Let heart rules our head and not otherwise

'Khusyuk'  in solat is when our hearts can rule our heads and hence if our hearts are clean they will send clean messages to our heads, but if our hearts are  dirty they will be otherwise.

Heart remains the center of life and center of responsibility.  According to an authentic saying of Prophet Mohammad, “inside the human body there is a morsel of flesh which if healthy, the whole body is healthy and which if diseased, the whole body is diseased.”  Then he pointed to his heart and said “ this piece of flesh is this heart.”  Thus a sound heart, one which is pure and is clean from all idols, where God resides, gives life to the body.

We must tame our evil self which otherwise would destroy the kingdom of God.  We must cultivate longing in search for the beloved.  We humans are wired for God and all we have to do is plug ourselves into the electrical outlets and turn the switch on by standing for prayer.

We must recognize God’s presence within us and with us.  Our hearts will remain restless until they rest in God and as Quran says “ for sure it is in the remembrance of God that the heart finds rest” (13:28) and according to the saying of the Prophet, there is polish for every rust and the polish for the rust of the heart is the remembrance of God.

Let us keep our hearts clean.   As Abdul Qadir Jilani, Sufi Master of Islam said “Your heart is a polished mirror.  Keep it clean by wiping out the dust which has gathered on it because it is destined to reflect the light of divine secrets.

If only the lamp of divine secrets is kindled within your innerself then the rest will come.  Then you will see the sun of inner knowledge rising from the horizon of divine reason.”  But in order to attain pure spirituality, we must empty our hearts first to receive God and make it a worth while place for Him to live.

3) Our journey to religous kuliyyah is a mirror of our journey in the here-after..

If we feel difficult to make ourself to take a journey to go to any religious gathering, then we are expected to face difficulty to cross the path of Siratul Mustakim in the here-after. Nauzu billah...

In religous gathering Allah shower his Sakinah to the his servants in the gathering.  Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "When a group of people assemble for the remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them (with their wings), (Allah's) mercy envelops them, Sakinah, or tranquillity descends upon them and Allah makes a mention of them before those who are near Him.''

Those were the points that I managed to absorbed from the kuliyyah. On our way back, I asked Hubby.. 'Do you think that it is easy for you to attend any religous gathering nowdays?.. He shooked his head. 'Do you know why?'.. No answer.. I said again : 'I think is because our hearts are not clean.." He nodded his head and said, ' Yes..the heart has become rusted...' I stopped right there...

Thank you Allah.

'Ya Allah, Please forgive me and my husband and shower your blessing and hidayah upon us..'

Ameen....
